I know that everything that I have blogged about thus far has been Kettlebell related.... so now I want to take some time to talk about the supplements that keep me going strong!!
It would be a perfect world if we were able to get all our vitamins and minerals from just eating healthy foods. But, with all the different factors that affect our health on a daily basis, this is virtually impossible. Leading a healthy lifestyle is much harder to do than it was 50-60 years ago. The poor quality of our food, water, and air is enough to require supplementation.
Although, I agree that certain people require certain supplements, I'm going to give you the four I think that everyone should be looking in to.
1) Cod Liver Oil
Cod liver oil is said to be the most reliable and concentrated food sources of four nutrients which are essential to our health: DHA, EPA, vitamin A, and vitamin D. Healthy joints, strong bones and teeth, a healthy cardiovascular system and a strong digestive tract are the power effects of a cod liver supplements.
2) Vitamin C
Vitamin C is also a must for me. Vitamin C makes the immune system strong and resilient. I know you all always hear me bragging about how I never get sick and this supplement is one of the reasons why. I haven't been sick and feel confident that I will continue to be vital and strong. We are one of the only animals that do not produce our own Vitamin C. Dr. David Getoff, vice president of the Price-Pottenger foundation says that if you take Vitamin C in hour within feeling symptoms of having a cold, there;s an 80% chance that you will not get sick. And if you are already sick, vitamin can cut your sick time in half. So, make sure to get your hands on this powerful supplement.
3) Glutamine
There are several benefits of supplementing a healthy diet with Glutamine. Glutamine happens to be the most abundant amino acid and is essential because our bodies can make it. Glutamine helps or body rid itself of waste, support immune system function, enhance energy output and brain function, while significantly speeding up our bodies natural healing process. Also, many exercisers choose this product, as it helps us to retain all the muscle we work so hard to get.
4) Cruciferous Vegetables
Last but not least is my "miracle supplement", Cruciferous vegetables. If you're not taking this supplement....stop what you're doing and order some from us right away!! I'm not kidding, everyone walking this planet should be taking between 12-15 tablets of this supplement on a daily basis. Cruciferous vegetables have excellent cancer fighting properties. This supplement prevents the transformation of healthy cells into cancerous cells. According to a study done at Johns Hopkins University, men who consume 3 or more half cups of Cruciferous vegetables a week were 41% less likely to develop prostate cancer. My father passed away from prostate cancer, so you can see why this supplement is so important to me.
