I must say it sure is nice to have good people like Sharon Greene be part of the Dynamic Solutions community. Sharon has been a client of mine for over a year now and its very clear to all that she's on the same journey towards optimum health like the rest of the DS staff. Sharon is the Head Nurse at the FCC building in Washington D.C. and I would have to say there couldn't be a better person for the position. The folks at the FCC are truly blessed to have her in charge.
When Sharon first approached me about doing a dual seminar with Dr. Berg, I must admit I was a little hesitant. Some people look at the kettlebell as another exercise gimic. They don't know the history behind the kettlebell and what tremendous benefits await when taught proper technique and safety. With the way exercise is being prescribed nowadays I do not blame them. Its amazing to me how many doctors, trainers, and so called exercise enthusiast do not understand the importance of prescribing exercise. Simply put,a person's state of health will determine what type of exercise they should participate in.
We talked about stress and how a person with high levels of stress should shift their focus away from strenuous exercise and focus on other things that will promote optimal health. Adrenal exhaustion is not given enough attention to those who are wondering why exercise alone is just not getting the job done. You can come up with the greatest exercise program ever put together, but I will bet you one thing, if a person's physiological load isn't addressed the program will ultimately never work! Remember, you must get healthy in order to lose weight, not vice-versa!
The seminar was awesome because we accomplished exactly what we set out to do. To give the people hope that things can truly turn around for you if you are willing to make some lifestyle changes. There must have been 70 people in the audience with the rest of the building watching the seminar via closed circuit television. I've done seminars before, but never have gotten the reaction that I got from this crowd. The icing on the cake was the kettlebell demonstration by Clint and myself. Over 20 people signed up to get an assessment and to learn more about exercise prescription and the wonderful benefits of Kettlebell training.
Seminars like this is why I love to do what I do, it was a great day for Team DS!
